If one of your goals is sustainable living, you may become smitten by this soap. Sustainable living employs using and reusing resources. Traditional soaps often contained animal fats and other surplus oils.
This soap is uncolored, and unscented, representing very simple luxury. It is full of skin-loving grass-fed tallow, a moisture powerhouse, meadowfoam seed oil, and a touch of tussah silk for amazing slip and understated luxury.
This bar is pared down to be simple...in the best possible way.

I am a part of the Daughters of the American Revolution and everyone in my chapter is a history nerd. One day I started to think about what early Americans may have used to make soap. The main ingredient in this bar is Tallow. Although a lot of my products are vegan, this one is not. Utilizing the entirety of an animal is absolutely a way to honor its life. I love this bar A LOT. It is uncolored and unscented, but I wanted to really embrace it not being vegan, so it also contains tussah silk. It’s my modern take on the Simpler Times of our ancestors. -The Alkimist

- Plastic-free & zero waste: All of our soaps are packaged using recyclable, compostable containers or paper wrapping.
- Organic & Natural: Our soaps are all made using handpicked and sustainably sourced natural ingredients. Quality really matters here and we wouldn’t use something for you that we wouldn’t use ourselves. The Alkimist is very particular ;)
- Cold-processed & handmade: Our soap bars are handmade (with love) using the cold process method. They are also hand stamped. Each batch will vary naturally lending to the artisanal nature of our products.
- Palm oil free & cruelty-free: The Alkimist saw the devastation caused to humans and animals alike by the Palm Oil industry in Southeast Asia, so our products will never contain Palm Oil. We never test on animals- just other humans!
